Banchory is a town in Aberdeenshire which is situated near the meeting place of the rivers Feugh and Dee. It lies eighteen miles west of Aberdeen. The origin of the name Banchory is unknown, but it is thought to come from the name of an early Christian settlement set up by Saint Ternan.
