Oldmeldrum is an Aberdeenshire village not far from Inverurie. It used to be known as Meldrum, from the Gaelic ‘Meall Druim’. The village has a rich history, having been the site of the Battle of Barra between Robert the Bruce and the Earl of Buchan in the fourteenth century.
